Local artist and Bethlehem Area School District art teacher Carla Majczan has been chosen to work with 300 students from the Lehigh Valley Children’s Centers to create a colorful mural for the new Da Vinci Science Center in downtown Allentown. The mural, which will be 120 feet long, is based on the children’s drawings and designs that they created as part of Carla’s lesson plans for art and science.
The students have been working on this project for a while now, and it’s exciting to see their hard work come to fruition. They will be meeting Thursday morning in the gym at the Judith Chase Early Learning Center on Chew Street to start painting. The mural will be installed at the new science center in late May or early June, just in time for its grand opening on May 22.
