Amazon Q Business, a new service launched by AWS, is changing the way employees interact with organizational knowledge and enterprise systems. This service provides comprehensive answers to complex questions and allows users to take actions through a seamless web-based chat experience. It integrates with over 40 popular enterprise systems such as Amazon S3, Microsoft 365, and Salesforce, ensuring secure access with existing credentials and single sign-on.
Amazon Q Apps is a new feature within Amazon Q Business that enables users to easily create apps based on their conversations with the service or by describing app ideas in natural language. Users can build, share, and customize apps using enterprise data to improve productivity. Apps can be published to a library managed by administrators for secure sharing and compliance with data governance policies.
In addition to these features, Amazon Q Business now offers custom plugins that allow admins to connect third-party applications for employees to use through natural language prompts. This feature enables actions like submitting time-off requests or sending meeting invitations directly through Amazon Q Business. Users can also search real-time data, such as employee time-off balances or scheduled meetings.
Both Amazon Q Business and Amazon Q Apps are currently available in the US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) AWS Regions. These services are designed to enhance employee productivity, streamline tasks, and improve communication within enterprises.
