Titans decline to exercise Caleb Farley’s fifth-year option

The Tennessee Titans have decided not to exercise the option on cornerback Caleb Farley’s contract for the 2025 season, as reported by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. This means that Farley will not be guaranteed the $12.472 million that the option would have provided. Farley, who has been plagued by back injuries and a torn ACL since being drafted in the first round in 2021, has only played in 12 games and missed all of last season due to back issues.

General Manager Ran Carthon expressed hope in February that Farley would be able to contribute this year. However, the team’s decision not to exercise the option indicates that Farley still has a lot to prove if he wants to have a role in the organization in the future. This news suggests that Farley’s future with the Titans may be uncertain as he continues to work towards solidifying his place on the team.
