Acne is a disease of the sebaceous gland hair follicles that can manifest in various forms of lesions. The causes of acne are numerous, including hormonal, digestive, and bacterial factors. Sensitive skin occurs when the skin’s natural barrier is compromised, leading to increased water loss and easier penetration by external agents. UV exposure, pollution, and harsh ingredients in cosmetics are some of the factors that worsen sensitive skin.
Dr. Le Vi Anh from the Department of Dermatology – Skin Aesthetics at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital explains that improper cleaning or skin care can make the skin more prone to acne and sensitivity. In addition to external factors, understanding and correcting skin care mistakes early can improve the health and appearance of the skin.
The dermatologist identifies 10 common skin care mistakes that can increase these issues. These include using harsh products, leaving makeup remover on the skin, not moisturizing oily skin, improper cleaning habits, overusing products, preemptively pursuing anti-aging treatments, not tailoring skincare to different areas of the face and not avoiding overuse of cosmetics. It is important to be mindful of these mistakes and adjust our skincare routines accordingly in order to maintain healthy and radiant skin.
