The Global Citizen NOW summit will bring together a diverse group of political, business, and philanthropic leaders in New York on May 1 and 2. The summit aims to tackle pressing issues such as food insecurity, climate change, and public health associated with extreme poverty. Among the speakers are Michelle Yeoh, Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi, Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg, Hugh Jackman, Danai Gurira, Dakota Johnson, Cisco representatives, Citi executives, Delta leaders, PayPal participants, Rockefeller Foundation President Rajiv Shah, Bezos Earth Fund CEO Andrew Steer, and Volker Türk of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
During the summit’s focus on defeating preventable diseases like malaria and HPV and preserving the Amazon Rainforest through new initiatives backed by the World Bank. Additionally, the organization will recognize five young people making extraordinary efforts to change the world through its Global Citizen Prize awards.
