The city of Kyle, Texas is making an effort to set a new Guinness World Record by gathering the most people named Kyle within its city limits. The event will take place on May 18 at the Kyle Fair, which is open to anyone with the first name “Kyle” spelled exactly that way.
Participants must register online or in person at the fair and provide proof of their first name “Kyle.” Variations of the name, such as Kyler, Kyal, or Kylee, will not be accepted. Middle names, last names, and nicknames also do not qualify for participation.
The current record held in Bosnia was set in 2017 when 2,325 individuals named Ivan gathered together. Last year’s “Gathering of the Kyles” event in Kyle, Texas brought together 1,490 participants from across the country. City officials are hoping to surpass this record and make history.
The Kyle Fair is a Tex-Travaganza that runs from May 17-19 at Lake Kyle Park. The fair features live music, food trucks, margarita judging, rib judging, and other activities. Admission to the fair is free for all attendees.
