The 27-year-old golfer closed with a score of 68 to clinch his second green jacket at Augusta National in a dominant display. Top-ranked player Scottie Scheffler emerged victorious after a back-nine shootout, securing his second Masters title with a four-stroke win at Augusta National. Scheffler, who had previously won the green jacket in 2022, took home a record $3.6 million top prize after a thrilling battle on Sunday with Collin Morikawa, Max Homa, and Ludvig Aberg from Sweden, who impressed in his major debut.

Reflecting on his victory, Scheffler expressed his emotions by saying, “I can’t put into words what it means to win this tournament again.” He birdied three of the last six holes to shoot a four-under par 68, finishing 72 holes over the iconic 7,555-yard layout on 11-under 277. Aberg secured second place with a score of 281 after shooting a 69. Two-time major winner Morikawa had to settle for a closing 74, sharing third place on 284 with Homa and England’s Tommy Fleetwood.

Speaking about his strategy during the tournament, Scheffler mentioned, “I did my best to stay calm out there. I tried to stay patient on the course.” He emphasized making key shots and putts to keep his round going. By winning the Masters for the second time while being atop the world rankings, Scheffler joined Tiger Woods as the only other player to achieve this feat. At the age of 27, Scheffler became the fourth-youngest multiple Masters winner, behind golf legends like Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and the late Seve Ballesteros.

Commenting on Scheffler’s performance, Homa praised him by saying, “Scottie is an amazing golfer. It’s really impressive.” With only five Masters starts, Scheffler has the second-fewest appearances for any golfer winning the tournament twice. His consistency in play, without shooting a round over par since August, has contributed to his success on the golf course.
